Here is the idea in a nut shell.
I am going to use my competition to drive traffic to my site.
I am actually “using” the competitions efforts, and their money to drive traffic to my site.
I am building a brand new site that isn’t even a day old and I want to start driving traffic to it now, today.
Let’s get started…
I do not want to just build a site and try and drive traffic to the site to make the sale. After all the sale is going to be made on the SMM.com.co site and not on the SEOWatchDog.org site. Selling a product, and promoting a product on a website is going to take a lot of traffic and a lot of pre-selling before I can start seeing any kind of results.
I want to come in the back door so I do not have to compete head up with swarms of other motivated SEO’s for the same keywords day one.
The idea is that most people are searching for a solution to a problem. Potential clients are first exposed to online products through either a social media site or one of the major search engines.
Either they buy on impulse, leave and don’t buy, or they research the product before buying it.
When buyers are researching a product, they’re usually very close to making a purchase. They want to justify the purchase before making it and are looking for proof online. As with all of us they want to get the most bang for their buck.
So they head to Google and type in “companies name review”, or “companies name how their work is” or whatever and this is where we want to come up in the top 3.
This people are looking for actual feedback in the form of, opinions, complaints, red-flags, or the “green light”.
And this is where I want to step into the process. I want to put myself in the middle of a sale that I know is about to take place.
What I am going to be doing is reviewing other SEO’s products – with a bit of a twist:
You see I am not trying to sell a product; I am actually intercepting a sale in progress and giving them what they want – proof & justification.
I am going to make a review for each SEO company and for each product that I want get “research traffic” from and clearly present it on my product-info page. The purpose of this page is to get organic search engine traffic from long-tail keywords, so I need to include:
- The company’s name
- The person associated with the company
- The company’s domain name
- And so on
I want to right a review, a kickass detailed review about different SEO companies.
In addition to the typical “review”, I want to search for actual user feedback and then take some of the comments and use them on the review page as well.
The idea is to come across as a reporter rather than a reviewer.
I am not trying to sell anyone anything.
All I am doing is putting together facts about the company and making it easy for the website visitor to make a purchase decision!
The reason for this;
- I am getting free exposure for someone else’s hard work. Instead of marketing my website, I am siphoning my traffic from someone else’s hard work by intercepting people who are in the process of making a purchase decision.
- My traffic is free, targeted and I can rank for as many trademarked terms as I want. Nothing is stopping me from ethically mentioning product names, trademarks, brands, etc. in my site content as long as I am using the proper “R” or “TM” symbols and disclaimers.
- I no longer have to create effective sales copy as all I am doing is a review of someone else’s business. I should be able to build a 100-page site with a ton of unique, highly-targeted content in a weeks’ time.
- Now I am going to set up a newsletter and forum for the SEO site. You see all my visitors are prequalified and are making a purchase decision based on my content. And I am targeting the visitors that matter:
BUYERS.
I will also have a newsletter on the site and as people subscriber I already know that this is more of a serious crowd than most.
- All the selling has been done, and we know there is a demand for the product so all I am doing is assisting with the final decision. There should be no question as to whether this will drive traffic to my site or not.
From the home page of the site I will promote my services.
The idea is to cut out the thinking and get started on the working.
