I enjoy designing websites and have been doing so for the last 7 years. However, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s best for me and the business if we only take on
jobs that we find interesting.
There is just way too much time involved in designing a website and dealing with clients.
At this time I feel like there are two ways we could go with the business.
1. Streamline the business and figure out the fastest and easiest way to design websites. Use an assembly line approach and try to put out as many web designs per day as possible.
2. Become the elite in the web design business and build a name that we can proudly stand behind. Only take on clients that are serious about building a web presence.
Believe it or not I’ve spent a good bit of time considering the direction I want to go. While I am sure there is more money in the first choose, I enjoy what I do way too much to build an assembly line approach to what has become an art to me.
I enjoy playing with web designs and figuring out how to create them in such a way that they are able to both drive traffic and convert traffic. At this time in my life I am unwilling to trade money for what has become an art to me.
And it’s for this reason that we will be turning down more web design jobs then we will be taking from this moment forward.
I personally feel that this is in the best interest of me, Geeks on Steroids and my clients.

Web Templates an Automated Systems
I spend a lot of the time on Web design forms and there is not a day that goes by that some old timer is not bragging about how he hand codes everything. These guys believe that if you are not hand coding then you are not a real designer.
I can understand where they are coming from, these guys spent years in college learning how to code everything by hand and here comes programs that do it all for you.
I agree that a Web designer needs to know how to code by hand but I disagree that a website coded by a program is less efficient than a website coded by a person.
But the big factor is the price and time spent coding by hand. You will spend a lot more time coding by hand than using a program. Because you are spending more time on the site you have to charge the customer more. And because you are spending more time fooling with the code than with the Web design, it is not going to look as good as the guys that use the program and spend more time on the look of the site and less time on the coding of the site.
That said, the thing that really gets me is all these template sites that are popping up all over the Internet. You can purchase a Web template for 100 bucks that is already set up with flash and a good-looking design. There are thousands to choose from so getting the perfect design isn’t hard. You can then take that design and modify it a little to fit perfectly into your niche.
When web design templates first came out I was totally against them.
However, the other day my guys were tied up designing websites for customers and I wanted to change the design on one of my sites. So I bought a template.
I actually like the template site better than http://www.geeksonsteroids.com and I’ve spent years trying to get the look and feel of Geeks on Steroids like I wanted and only a couple minutes on the other site.
Could template sites be the way to the future?

Geeksonsteroids Reviews
I’ve been in the web design and development business for the last 8 years and I can honestly say that there are times when you run into problems with a client. In most cases we refund the money and leave it at that but there are clients that either want more than a refund or the refund is just too much of a stretch.
I had a lady two years ago that we finished a site for and she could not find the password and login for her domain name. I started off trying to help her but she was rude, ugly and insisted that it was my fault and I’d either find the password and login or give her a refund. The problem was that the site was finished and it wasn’t my fault that she could not find the user name and password.
I refused to give her a refund and we fault it out through PayPal, she lost and immediately started posted lies all of the internet on sites like Rip Off Reports as well as others about my business.
Then there was the lady who is still a customer of mine but when her email got over looked she went crazy posting stuff about my business online. The next day when I answered her email she apologized and tried to have the sites remove the information but they refused. They didn’t care rather it was a mistake or not.
You see, sites like Rip Off Reports makes lots of money by blackmailing website owners into paying to have information removed. Rip Off Reports has been sued so many times that it’s not even funny.
But the real problem with these sites is that anyone can post on them. The competition can make up some lies and post them online.
Then they target the websites name like Geeks on Steroids.
The hope is that we find the bad review and pay them to remove it or for the competition that our clients find them and decide not to do business with us. Rather I am innocent or not is of no concern to these people. The truly sad part is that we bend over backwards to take care of our clients and we are repaid with our competition pretending to be clients and writing bad things about our company.

Geeks on Steroids have spent the last 8 years building and selling custom website designs. It’s been a very lucrative as well as a very stressful business. One of the things I’ve always liked about building and selling websites is the community associated with web designing and online marketing.
It seems that someone is always giving away some form of opensource software that meets the needs of the next project you are about to undertake.
I’ve never really thought about the downside of this until late yesterday afternoon. I wanted to build three websites for myself and it was time for everyone to go home. Since there was no one around to build my sites I bought 3 templates from template monster and will have my guys customize them on Monday.
But this got me to thinking, for $62.00 a template there is absolutely no reason in the world why someone should have an ugly website design. Ugly websites just don’t work and some of the templates are darn nice templates, a couple tweaks here and there and you’ve got yourself a kick ass website design for under $200.00.
I am sure the custom web design industry will always be around but I am equally sure that the cheap templates have taken a bite out of the custom web design industry. This afternoon I decided to sign up as an affiliate an stick some template on my site to see how they do.
At this moment I have no idea how long I’ll be leaving them on the site but it does give me some incentive to do a little online marketing.

The recession is over yet 450,000 jobs were lost in the month of June, after the recession had ended.
I’ve seen a lot of my competition begin to struggle and many others go out of business. Yet prices across the board for web design services have remained intact. The recession caused people to tighten their grip on their wallets and useless products are no longer being purchased.
People are now thinking about how they spend their money and many are starting to pay off credit debt. If nothing else we’ve learned that nothing in life is for sure, including your job or the faith of the company you work for.
Companies have now started calling outsourcing, Cloud Commuting and it is being looked on as a good thing. It’s one of the things that have kept many companies in business and allowed them to keep prices low and keep current employees.
Geeks on Steroids has been busy this year helping many companies improve their web presence and turn old websites into money making machines. Source that have not been considered in the past are being considered today.
The difficult times are far from over but the companies that see this as an opportunity to change the way they do business will remain in business and continue to grow.
