A Couple years ago I worked with a company that was selling a product for $19.99. We ran some split test and just for fun played with the price a little. The results were that the $1,999.99 price sold better than the $19.99 price.

The more expensive product gave the impression of being of more value. The company went from being almost bankrupt to doing over a million in sales that year.

We unconsciously want what is more expensive and therefore harder to get. We unconsciously assume that expensive means better.

Ghostwriting 264x226 4 Tips to Increase Your Websites Blog ReadershipThis might sound bad but if I am going to spend my time writing something I’d like to hear some kind of response from my readers. It doesn’t matter if I’m selling advertising, products or just my ideas I want to have a large readership. I know there are number ways to increase the readership on my blog but I wanted to see what I could come up with off the top of my head.

Okay one thing we want to do is increase the number of pages each reader is reading. I want to be judged on more than one post because the one they are reading might not be my best. I can do this by highlighting related post within each post I make. And then at the end of the article I’ll highlight post that may be of interest to those who like this article.

I believe WordPress has a plug-in that will help me do this. I’ll look into that as soon as I finish writing this article.

The next thing I want to do is to do a series. By doing this I stand a chance of getting readers coming back to my website to see what’s been written, as well as getting readers that find one post to click through to the older post or the newer post either way increasing my page views.

Another way to increase readership is with controversy. If you know enough about your subject and you’re a good enough writer you can get a ton of traffic, this way. This a dangerous game to play if you’re not up to par on your topic or unable to carry on a debate with someone.

And last, but definitely not least, you have to have good quality content. It’s got to be useful, original, and interesting to your target audience. The more you raise the quality of your content, the more you will see your readership and membership grow.

Having a blog is not only fun but done correctly is extremely profitable lifestyle. Regardless you want to maintain and increase a readership.

Some of the stuff is just down right easy to do, like adding connections. Just click on your Contacts tab in the menu or the add connections button in the top right hand corner of the page. Then you will notice that there is another menu under the top menu, just click people you may know there and start adding connections. And of course you can enter your email account information and it will contact all your current friends, family, clients and co-workers for you.

 

From the drop down list you can pick from :

 

  • Colleagues
  • Classmates
  • People you may know
  • People you work with
  • People you went to school with

 

Now, keep in mind that the larger the network the more powerful it becomes and the more opportunities it’s able to produce. So…if you are looking for opportunities in the way of jobs, leads or work then you want to grow your network. The other cool thing is that you can export your connection list. I can export all my connections into a list and have them on my computer.

 

Here’s what I am thinking, done correctly the people that I connect will see that I am connected with a lot of people, they will see my updates, tweets, messages, status, answer to questions, comments and… everything else from my RSS feeds to my articles. Everything I’m doing, they’re seeing.

I think that’s pretty cool!

LinkedIn gives me the power to get more exposure, more traffic, more leads, more sales, more authority, and everything else I want. None of the other social media sites allow me to do that, not Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube. That’s why I wanted to start with LinkedIn, don’t get me wrong I’ll be using all the social media sites but at the moment I feel like LinkedIn has more opportunity then the others.
