The truth is any website can rank for any keyword, if you are willing to put in the time and effort needed, which most people are not. 1108341246042069 How much Competition is Too much For SEO?

If you are looking to hire a search engine optimization company to get your website ranked chances are they will do their best to talk you out of going for the competitive keywords.

No one is going to put the effort needed to get your site ranked for competitive keywords more so than you.

I’ve Got A Killer Website Design Now I Need Traffic

We need to understand that all traffic is not equal and in most cases the harder the traffic is to get the better it is. However, rule number one does not always hold true.

If I’ve got a website selling Volkswagen car doors then I don’t want to rank for cars or for that matter I really don’t need to rank for Volkswagen or car parts. Volkswagen car doors would be the better of the keywords as well as the easier of the keywords to rank for.

Going after keywords that are more exact are always easer and in most cases will convert better than the more competitive keywords.
Why Go After The Competitive Keywords

Once we’ve gone after and ranked for the less competitive keywords the next logical step is to go after the competitive keywords. I currently rank for website design however I first ranked for custom website design. I got a lot of traffic and was able to make a living off the long tail keywords however, once I started ranking for the competitive keywords I hardly notice the traffic from the non-competitive keywords.

I enjoy and continue working on my list of non-competitive keywords I rank for, however being able to rank for both the competitive and non-competitive keywords is a good feeling.
