Internet marketing is about targeting hungry buyers in places where the traffic is easy to find and will yield a return on our time and investment. Nothing I am about to show you is complex however, 90% of people marketing online fail to understand these concepts and therefore struggle to make money online.

The methods I am about to show you will work and I am not going to hold anything back however, you will need to take action to make it work.

Everything I am going to show you is based on real world experience. It’s been proven to make money for me over the years.

I am going to use an affiliate marketing site because it allows me to focus on the most important part of a successful online business, which is conversion and marketing.

I will use the website http://www.siliconewristband.org as an example site.

By targeting affiliate marketing, I do not have to worry about;

1. Having a product of the of my own
2. Customer support
3. Merchant accounts
4. Accepting payments online

Our goal is to convert as many visitors into buyers.

We will be doing this by focusing our attention on a very small percent of Google searches.

We need to understand how search engines work but even more importantly we need understand how the searchers search.

I would guess that about 80% of the searches that take place on the major search engines are for research. These are people who have no intention of purchasing anything online, they are looking for information. Therefore they will not be of any use to us and we will not target them in our search engine marketing.

I would also guess that about 30% are looking for information for a future purchase. These people who may or may not make a purchase in the future, we will not target them ether.

The smallest groups of searchers are the ones looking to purchase something right now. They understand what they are looking for, have the money and are ready to make a purchase.

These people will search by product names, model numbers, and will use terms like free shipping, discount, and bonus and so on and so on.

These are the people we want to target.

I guess there are more “How to Get Rich” websites then there are websites actually selling a product.

The reason for this is most people do not know how to make money online so instead of building a website that sells a real product or service (something they are unable to do) they build websites that sell information on how to make money online.

If I said that 98% of all websites online are not making money, I’d feel like that number was too low.

The sad truth is that there a more people designing websites then there are people making money with their websites. Most Web designers use call centers, newspaper ads, yellow page ads, and other means of off-line advertising to drum up customers.

I am telling you this because I want you to understand that making a living online is not something easily done. It takes hard work and dedication or lots of money.
There are certain steps needed to make a living online and none of the step are more important than the next.

The first of course is the website design.

The purpose of the website design is to get the attention of the web visitor. When someone lands on the site you have 3 seconds to get their attention and keep them interested.

The website design does not need to be flashy, fancy or show off the talent of a Web designer however it does need to be clean, easy to navigate, easy-to-understand, quick to load and have a call to action that will guide the web visitor in the direction you want them to go.

It sounds like we are taking all the hard work out of the Web design by removing the fancy flashy look but that is far from the truth.

The color of the cart button, the background color, the placement of the call to action, the size of the logo, colors used on the site, text size, text color, font, phone number placement, content, and so much more will affect the reaction of the web visitor when they are on the site.

Other words, a truly affective website is an art unto itself.

Making money online is about finding hungry buyers and convincing them that your product will make their life better, easier, more productive, happier and more profitable if they owned what it is you’re selling.

It’s really not that hard to do yet 95% of all websites online struggle to make any amount of real money.

I am going to cut through the BS and show you step by step how to make money with any product online. However, you will have to do your part, nothing comes without effort and in the online world it takes lots and lots of work. Yes, I said work, this isn’t one of those you don’t have to do anything and you’ll make millions websites.

I use the methods I am about to teach to make everyday online with a number of different websites in different niches.

The idea is to learn several different methods and then use them all together when launching your own site. As with anything, the key is to take action.

Understanding Google
Approximately 350,000,000 people search the web daily.

About 60% of those use Google for a total of 210,000,000 individuals;

30% use Yahoo for a total of 105,000,000,

9% use MSN (now Called Bing) for a total of 31,500,000 and the remaining 1% use other, smaller and less known search engines.

At this time Google is the largest and most powerful search engine to-date and sets the tone for online search with more than 210 million daily searches taking place.

It’s important to understand how people are using Google as well as what type of searches are being done. This will allow us to target the most lucrative daily searches.

A) Most people are searching for information and have no intention of making a purchase online. I’d guess the numbers around about 70% are these types of people.

B) The second largest group we’ll put at 30% and these are people that will most likely purchase in the future but are not looking to purchase anything at the moment.

C) The smallest group which is around about 2% is people that understand what they are looking for and are ready to make a purchase. Their searches will be more perfect and will contain model numbers, company names and search terms like free shipping.

Everyday millions and millions of transactions take place online and our goal is to get between the buyer and the merchant.
