I live in Colombia S.A and the one thing I’ve noticed is the things the government controls never work correctly. Makes me wonder why people would send their kids to them to be educated.
I was reading an article today by John Taylor Gatto and in the article he says that he is quitting and will no longer be teaching.
I just can’t do it anymore. I can’t train children to wait to be told what to do; I can’t train people to drop what they are doing when a bell sounds; I can’t persuade children to feel some justice in their class placement when there isn’t any, and I can’t persuade children to believe teachers have valuable secrets they can acquire by becoming our disciples. That isn’t true.
Government schooling is the most radical adventure in history. It kills the family by monopolizing the best times of childhood and by teaching disrespect for home and parents.
The best part of the article was this;
Good schools don’t need more money or a longer year; they need real free-market choices, variety that speaks to every need and runs risks.
We’ve allowed the government to come in and slowly take charge of assuring our enjoyment and fate. It has absolute power and a desire to be the agent in charge of our happiness.
It provides our security and anticipates our needs. It has developed a society of networks for regulations used to control us. It didn’t break our will but slowly softened it and bent it until they were able to direct us and heard us like sheep.
The government is destroying the free market and if the people around the world don’t make a stand our children will never run their own business or the one we’ve crawled, scrapped and bleed for. We need people in charge that understand the small business owner is the backbone for any economy.

We’re Not in Kansas Anymore
I ran across what I thought was going to be a very good topic by Jordan over at WPW, however like most things on the web it fizzled out before ever hitting a high note.
This isn’t an attack on Jordan, as a matter of fact had it not been for Jordan I wouldn’t be writing this now.
I believe Jordan’s thread would have been a lot better had he tried new things as he went along. Other words, if something isn’t working try something different.
I currently make a decent amount of money online and have learned over the years that there are two important things when it comes to making money online.
They are the traffic and the sites ability to convert that traffic.
I’ve got sites that make me money day after day on some extremely boring topics. And even though the rest of the world is seeing problems in the economy, I think God that my business has continued to grow.
However, it’s not been without effort, I’ve changed directions more times than most people change their underwear. I’ve spread out into other areas to pull traffic back into the sites I’m trying to make money with.
Let me give you an example;
I’ve got a website selling silicone wristbands; November was the worst month we’ve had in a long time. In December we redesigned the site and hit a record breaking month however January and February sales started dropping off really bad again.
We decided to build a website about fundraising events and once again drove sales back up and hit an all time high in the month of March. As a matter of fact we broke records that had been set over the past years in that one month.
Why the rest of the world is dealing with a recession, I’m dealing with how to break records that were set last month. There are times in life when we have to change directions and try something new.

Search Engine Friendly Web Development & Optimization
I had some friends come in late last night from the US who wanted to talk with me about making Money online. One of the topics that came up was doing online marketing. We talked about the shape of the economy and the fact that online marketing was one of the few businesses that should get better as the economy gets worst.
With that being said I explained that the most important part of marketing was to make sure that your client was about to get a return on his investment and that you were able to show him the return.
Marketing a website about making money online is easy. Hit the forums hard and brag about what you’re able to do however, when it comes to marketing a website that’s selling an actual product all that changes. Bragging or in some cases even posting on forums is no longer an option.
I do believe that Google has gotten complex enough over the years that what works to rank one set of keywords want work to rank another. It’s the ability to be flexible and change directions at the drop of a hat that allows any SEO to become successful.
A couple years I jumped into the world of Plastic Wrist Bands. and what I thought was a market with very little competition. Over the years I found that competing in the silicone wristband market was a lot more competitive then I had first thought. However, by aggressively increasing our conversion on the site as well as trying to rank the site we were always able to show the client a return on his investment.
Making money online is never ending and people whom claim it’s a 4 hour work week are not making money online. Things that work today may or may not work tomorrow depending on so many factors that one would have to write a book just to explain it all. However, by the time the book was published it would all be obsolete and they would have to start over because of the rate at which things change in the search engine friendly web development & optimization industry.
