I did a post the other day on custom web design and thought I’d take a moment today and add a little to it.

I was messing around on a forum yesterday and wanted to help someone out with some design changes. The site they were showing me just didn’t look right and they had been messing with it for the last couple weeks. I shouldn’t do this and I’m sure that someone is going to get mad but I took a screen shot of the site here.

Now the screen shot is after two weeks of making changes. And you can’t see it from the link but the products are all misaligned and crazy looking as we enter the content area. I decided to cut to the chase and had my guys design a site and gave to the guy. The site we designed is here.

Last I checked the guy has not implemented any of the changes that I gave him and that’s fine. However, we need to keep in mind that the custom website design is only one step in many when it comes to making money online.

If you’re serious about making money online call up a custom web design company, negotiate a deal for them to design your site and get it online. Once the site is online there will be plenty of time to make changes and start fine tuning it. And when there is a change that needs to be made do it or hire someone else to do it but get it done and out of the way.

You’ve got enough to do without spending all your time playing with the design.

Custom Web Page

I’ve been involved in and have seen many online arguments about how much a custom web page design really matters. I find it funny the lack of knowledge involved with people whom are suppose to make their living online doing this for others.

If you don’t understand the importance of a custom page design then chances are you aren’t making your living online.

I’ve got an affiliate site that I currently make around $200.00 per day with. I was talking with the guys and gals doing the marketing on the site this morning and looking at what we can do to push that to $500.00 per day.

While we had some good ideas put forth on the marketing the best idea of the day came from the design team with the help from Dave at WPW. Dave had suggested early this week that we should set up the affiliate account to measure the click through rate and sales on the call to action banners below the copy.

My design team decided it would be better to set up the affiliate account to measure the click through rate on every call to action and banner on the site. And even take that a step further and measure the click through rate and sales when small changes are made to the call to action and banner designs.

Does a blue banner get a higher click through rate than a red one?

How much difference does the font on the call to action make?

And the list goes on and on. While I’ve got my marketing team implementing different ideas on marketing that could take me a month or more to see my design team will be building some custom web page designs that I could very well see increase the amount of money I make today.
