There’s so much crap being written online that all you have to do to standout is be who you say you are.
You want to create your brand around being the real deal!
The real power in social media is your ability to create and brand your image. It’s one of the reasons so many companies are falling to turn a profit, with social media marketing, they don’t understand how to use it.
Just look around at all the spammers on forums, twitters on twitter, trolls and all the others for proof.
Because most of the people using social media for marketing are not authentic – standing out is nothing more than being yourself. Just think about this, next time you on twitter what percentage of the posts in your active Twitter stream offer any value?
What about your Facebook news feed?
Online marketers have lowered the bar to the point you have to dig down just to get to it. This makes it easy to stand out just by being yourself.
It allows you to build relationship on a solid foundation with people … who ultimately could become your future friends, customers, and business partners … but it only happens if the people can begin to know you, like you and trust you.
You make money on social media sites by being yourself, not someone else.
Be yourself.
All you have to do is talk about your passions and beliefs and your personality will show through … people will want to hear what you have to say.
The idea is to look at people on social media sites as people you want to be friends with and not as potential clients. These are people we want to give and get advice from and talk about life with. It’s the only way to build a real relationship.
A relationship is something you might be able to fake on the first couple visits but eventually your true colors are going to show through.
However, by offering real value and true friendship you’ll find that people will line up to work with you.
You want people to understand the sacrifices you’ve made for your family, and the values you’ve stood for in your life, so they can see the real value in your product or service.
And this is what social media sites allow us to do. Forget about the yellow pages or handing someone a business card, this is a real connection between two people.
