Web Design Templates

In the early 90’s website creation was a process that started from scratch. The web designer would spend a large amount of his time muddling through code trying to get the designs look and feel like he wanted. Once the site was finished and put online the only person able to maintain the site was the web developer.

Then came website templates, which made website creation easier affordable and cut down significantly on the amount of time it took to develop a website. A good template can cost anywhere from 50 bucks to hundreds whereas a custom-built web design can cost you anywhere from $500 to $5,000. Simply put, anyone was able to develop a quality website and this made Web creation easier more profitable and faster for everyone involved.

The availability of website templates opened a new world and many opportunities for web developers who could now create more quality websites in much less time. A web developer can quickly choose the template he needs and begin creating the website. It is no surprise that the number of quality websites created in the last years has exploded.

Business entrepreneurs or small business owners now have more choices as to what type of design they want to use for their website. By visiting a quality template website or vendor a business owner can choose the design he needs and hand that over to a development team for the website creation. There are significant savings in cost and time that were not available in the past.

Once the website templates became common use in web designs there was an explosion of web developers and this caused hosting companies to begin adding templates and site builders to their share hosting environment. This allowed anyone to create a website without the knowledge of HTML or other programming languages.

Template sites have became popular and web designers have begun creating templates for these sites and it also allowed them to make money through the sales of their templates.

As you can see the concept of website templates has opened up new business opportunities as well as created many new jobs.

The things that hurt the most in life are self inflicted. We notice them at the end of our life when we look back at what we’ve done. We are our own enemy and there is a war inside each and every one of us.

When we are young, the little things we do wrong, bother us, as we do them over and over we begin to accept them. It’s no more correct than it was the first time we did it; however we’ve decided it’s just the way it is and no longer let it bother us.

At the end of every day I look back at the amount of work I got done and the amount of time I was able to spend with my husband and kids. No matter how much I get done or how much time I spent with my husband and kids I always feel guilty.

It is because I know that what I do today will affect what I’m able to do tomorrow.

I spend a lot of time talking with people on the phone, through emails and social media sites about the fact that they need more money.

Worrying about money isn’t fun, is it?

But if you didn’t have enough money in 2008, what makes you think 2009 will be any different?

Chances are 2009 will most likely bring you the same results as 2008 did – unless YOU get off your ass and do something about it.

Now, that’s really the heart of it, isn’t it?

There are no secrets, no secret recipes or get rich easy methods. It requires YOU cutting off the TV and managing your time better.

Sticky Websites Don’t Work

How much time is needed for your website to deliver its message to a potential client?

When someone lands on your website you’ve got less than 3 seconds to convince them to stay.

Let’s assume for a moment that the visitor that just landed on your website is interested in what you have to say, how much of your site will they remember and how much do they need to remember in order to become a client?

The amount of time your website needs in order to become effective is one of the most overlooked areas in web design and development while at the same time one of the most important.

And I am not talking about making a site sticky, just because a site can keep someone on it for hours does not mean that, that someone is going to ever purchase anything.

Sticky Isn’t So Good

Most sticky sites were developed with the idea of selling advertising space but the problem is that the people on the site become banner blind. In most cases the users on sites like YouTube or FaceBook want click on banners, they are there for a purpose and have no desire to leave the site.

Unless someone comes up with another way of doing it, it’s nothing more than a failed business model.

The idea is to make your website attractive enough to get their attention, engaging enough to get them to stick around, informative so it explains what it is your product or service can do for them and entertaining so they don’t forget you.

You have to be able to turn your advertising into content and your website into an experience.

Your Website Has To Be Like Six Flags

At Six Flags, people will spend hours standing in line waiting for their turn on a ride that last a couple minutes at best, then they will run back around and stand in the same line to do it all over again.

Your website has to show enough to make your site visitor want to wait for the rest of the site to load and be entertaining enough to make the site visitor stick around to read what it is you have to say.

But you only want to entertain for a couple minutes because the end goal is the checkout line.

Your website has to provide quality, and a memorable experience, in a matter of minutes.

How Much Time Do You Have?

You’ve got just enough time to let your site visitor know what’s in it for them.

I’m Giving Up TV

I was reading an article late last night about the amount of time we spend watching TV.

The average person now watches 4.5 hours of TV a day.
To put it into perspective, if you watch an average of 31.5 hours of TV each week (which the average person in the US does) and you value your time at minimum wage of $5.85 an hour, you are spending nearly $800 a month ($798.53) to watch TV. That comes to nearly $10,000 ($9582.30) a year.

I’ll go ahead and state now that I don’t spend near as much time watching TV as the average person spends. I spend a lot of time on the internet reading, writing and trying to figuring out new and better ways to make money online.

However, I do feel that I’m losing a lot of valuable time sitting and watching TV shows that bring no value to my life at all and I’m willing to cut those out of my life.
