Look At It This Way
If you have a website that is ranked in the search engines for a search phrase that brings in 850,000 people every month, and if you sold just 1% of that 850,000 each month, you would be making 8,500 sales every month.
The problem that we all face is the time and effort needed to get a website ranking for that perfect keyword.
You see, while trying to rank your website in the top of the search engines (for that perfect keyword) the site isn't making money, off the work that is being performed.
Think About it Like This
Getting a website to rank in the top of the search engines can take months or even years.
And the work needs to be done daily...so you either have to pay someone to work on the site everyday or do it yourself.

You have to guide and direct the visitor. If you want them to purchase your product you need a banner that says buy this now at the top of the page.
Design a Logo
The logo is one of the first things that people see when they enter your site. For that reason, you need a logo that builds trust and gives a good first impression. It should be simple but original and tell something about your company or product.
Use Comprehensible Language
Your content should not be hard to understand. It should be written in a language and way that a fourth grader can understand what you are saying.
Text Size Matters
It is important to consider the text size you use. Consider that many people do not enjoy small letters that are difficult to read. In this respect, you may use larger text for all your visitors to read comfortably. Moreover, you may headline key points in your text so that the main concepts and words can be clearly identified.
Website Navigation
Your website should be easy to navigate. It is always better to leave something out for the sake of simplicity.
Use Clear Photos and Icons
Your website must contain uncluttered photographs and icons so that they do not interfere with the functioning and appearance of your site. And only use photos that add something to the website and has something to do with the website topic.
Respect Your Visitors’ Confidence
People may get a little uncomfortable when they visit a website that asks them for personal information.

I’ve always loved looking at really cool logos. There is just so much you can do with a logo and having a cool one opens up even more doors.
Something else I love is animals so combing both animals and logo designs we should be able to come up with some interesting ideas. Here’s a couple I’ve found online.

I’ve been making my living online for 8 years now and have never had a problem getting leads. We’ve always had web design work, as a matter of fact if no one had told me that there was a recession going on I wouldn’t have even known about it.
However, last week for the first time I felt the leads start to slow down a bit and now this week we’ve not even had a one. It’s a scary feeling.
So…what does this mean for my web design business?
It means unlike most people, who start looking for ways to cut cost, I’ll be looking for ways to better market my business. At this time in my life and in the life of my web design business I just can’t afford to participate in the recession.
We are currently finishing up our last ten web design jobs and should be totally out of work by this time next week, so it’s time for me to get started with some serious marketing. Sometimes we have to dig down deep and see what we are made of. And this is one of those times.

I’ve always enjoyed website marketing more than website design. Marketing is more in the line with head on with the competition and the search engines are keeping score.
It’s one of the reasons why I walked away from the web design business the first of this year and have pretty much only taken on jobs that interested me.
Now that I’ve got another company that will be handling on the web design services I can really start focusing on what I truly enjoy which is marketing and driving traffic to my website as well as testing conversion methods.
God willing, this is going to be a fun year for me.
