Website Design
Web DesignSearch Engine OptimizationWeb Templates

Think of your website as being a representative of your business. If the website is not designed properly or the navigation is confusing or even worst doesn’t work properly then people will not trust your business. 87% of every person looking to make a purchase from your business will first go online and check out your company before making a purchase.

Your website has to show your website visitors that his or her life would be easier, more productive and happier if they owned what it is you are selling.
And this brings us to the web designer.

You first need to look at the web designer’s site and see how the sites, colors, images, logo etc. flows together. If their site doesn’t pull you in and make you want to look around and eventually make a purchase then how in the world can you expect them to design you a website that will do all these things.
Color schemes are very important as different colors create a reaction within the person that is viewing the site. Blues build trust while reds are a conflicting color as well as hard on the eyes.

It’s impossible to build a site out of a single color, so your web designer needs to be able to work with colors that will complement each other. And once again by looking at the web designer’s site as well as the sites in his/her portfolio we can get an idea how good he/she is at working with multiple colors. The fonts used and the readability of the site is also very important.

Keep in mind that some clients have an idea going into a project and are unwilling to take advice from their web designer so it’s important to spend some time and look through the web designers portfolio to see how well the majority of the site designs are at pulling you into them and making you want to make a purchase.

I was playing around a bit yesterday and decided to start myself a new website. I’ve got designers to come up with designs but when it comes to trying to lie everything out it falls back on me.

One of the things I was trying to decide on was the content for the site. After a bit of thought I decided to look up the most popular magazines and look at the content in those magazines. After all, it only made sense that these were experts on content.

What I found surprised me,

It didn’t take long to realize that all the top articles had something in common. Guess from here on out I’ll be writing more articles like the above but to do with website designs and online marketing.

I ran across what I thought was going to be a good topic by Jordan over at WPW, however like most things on the web it fizzled out before ever hitting a high note.

This isn’t an attack on Jordan, as a matter of fact had it not been for Jordan I wouldn’t be writing this now.

The name of his thread was the $3,000.00 per month Google AdSense project and he got the idea from the $30,000.00 per month Google AdSense project.

The $30,000.00 per month Google AdSense Project never made any money and was started by Collusion who stopped the project 2 months into it.

In April of 2009 Jordan was able to make $282.00 however at the start of the project in May of 2007 Jordan was making $520.00, seems to me after 2 years of not making money I’d been trying something different.

He’s managed to ignore just about every bit of advice he’s been given and continue to move forward, or backwards doing the same thing over and over and hoping for a different result.

I believe Jordan’s thread would have been a lot better had he tried new things as he went along. Other words, if something isn’t working try something different.

Jordan never tried anything new and as a result his income declined.

So…here’s my two cents.

If you are going to make money online you need to have a marketing plan laid out and you need to be willing to change directions at the drop of a hat. It’s like a really good Chess game or for that matter you could even compare it to going to war. After all it is war with the competition.

And like war we must have a plan that will take us step by step into the battle.

However, the biggest problem with trying to make money online is that most people give up before ever making any real money.

So…let’s start by addressing this problem.

What I don’t want to happen is to get started and give up a week later, because I haven’t made any money, so to keep this from happening I want be planning on making all my money from one site. It would be difficult to take a brand new affiliate site and get it to making $30,000.00 per month but it want be as hard to get a site doing $10.00 per month.

The idea is to associate each site with some type of current bill I’ve got. I would then say my water bill is $75.00 per month and this site selling pocket books is going to pay that bill every month. My goal is to then make that site do $75.00 per month.

I’ll take the $75.00 and divide it by 30 days to get my daily objective of $2.50 per day. Then I will take each item on the list and break it down into daily amounts as well.

When I am finished each item on my list will have a website associated with it.

It doesn’t matter how small the amount of money a website makes… that money can go towards paying off one of the monthly expenses.

We are not focusing on the amount of money the website makes, but rather on the expense the site is able to take care of.

Once I’ve gotten each site set up with an expense I’ll then determine how many sells that site needs to make in order to meet its obligation of paying that monthly expense. If a site makes $1.00 per sale and is covering a $30.00 expense then it needs to make a sale a day. However if the site is making $30.00 per sale and is covering a $30.00 expense then it only needs to make one sale per month.

Once I know how many sales I need to make every month I’ll then start figuring how much traffic I need to make a sale. Some affiliate sites will give me the conversion rates, if they don’t then I normally figure it at 2%, and that is a really bad conversion rate, it should convert a lot better then that.

If the site converts at 2%, and I want to make a sale per day then I need to send 50 unique visitors per day to the affiliate site. From here I need to know how many unique visitors I need to my site in order to send 50 to the affiliate site.

And of course that depends on my conversion rate. The higher my conversion rate… the fewer visitors I’ll need to reach my income goal.

I’ll go with the same 2% conversion to be on the safe side and so… I’ll need 2,500 unique visitors per day.

From here it’s just a matter of doing a little keyword research and picking the keywords that will bring in the amount of traffic I need, and then of course ranking the site for those keywords.

Since this is the first method I am writing about when it comes to ways of making money online I wanted something that was easy to do but at the same time would make money almost immediately.

I am sure this is not the easiest or fastest but it all seems to make sense to me, which is important for any project I take on.

Getting an image to rank is a lot easier then getting content to rank. The competition in Google images is a lot less than the competition for the main search.

Apart from that, most webmasters don’t even try to get traffic from the image search. You see there are a lot of problems with targeting images.

For example, someone looking to have their site optimized for the search engines is not going to look for that person in the image searches. So…ranking for images isn’t for everyone.

This other problem is that there are no tools to tell me what type of images people are searching for, so it’s all guess work.

When optimizing images about all you can do is;

•Keyword in the picture’s name
•Keyword in the image’s alt tag
•Keyword in the image’s title and description
•Keyword in the post
•Keyword in the title, description and tags of the page

Now…one of the most important parts of this method is naming the pictures.

We don’t want Britney Spears1, Britney Spears2, Britney Spears3 what we want is Britney Spears underwear, Britney Spears bikini, Britney Spears thongs, and so on and so on.

With the keyword Britney Spears bikini, we could possibly get traffic from the
search terms:

1) Britney Spears
2) Britney Spears bikini
3) Bikini

Now…think about this, if we upload 10 pictures for each post we make, for each actress we find, then we stand a chance for ranking each post for about 20 different keywords.

We are going to paste all our pictures as a thumbnail (150×150), next we are going to paste our affiliate code into the image, so when someone clicks on the image to blow it up they go to our affiliate site.

We will then sign up as an affiliate for some celebrity sites and start making money in that industry.

This is the age where he who has the latest and most accurate information will win, both on the battlefield and in the marketplace. More and more people are turning to the Internet, in hopes of making a living online and it is the information that will separate the winners from the losers.

Making a living online is not near as easy as a lot of people make it out to be. The information is constantly changing and to make it tougher there is bad information mixed in with the good. Trying to figure out what works and what does not work requires testing, time, energy and a persistence to go without sleep, family, hobbies and entertainment, just to name a few.

I thought many times about posting and writing about the things we do, those things that allow us to make money online while others fail. However, trying to figure the best way to put the content together as well as the time needed and the question I constantly ask myself is, “why share that information?”

Anyway, I decided I am going to build 10 websites back to back in hopes of getting each website making $50 a day, ten websites doing $50.00 per day, adds up to about $15,000.00 per month, not bad for a little extra cash.

And if it all works out I’ll build another ten once I get the first ones working.

I am going to use a lot of affiliate programs but the techniques being used will work on any site.

Keep in mind that I am building in bulk and plan to make my money from many different sites, so some of the techniques that I can only spend minutes on would work better if I had more time to spend on them.

Also keep in mind that you may disagree with me on some of the techniques or even know of a better way to use them and for this reason I’ve set up the site so members can post comments at the bottom of each article.

And of course some of the techniques might not work with your business, but others will so you’ll have to choose what you want to use and not use from the site.

The first affiliate site I am going to work with is http://wristbandland.biz/ and the domain name is brand spanking new, so getting it to work is going to be a challenge.

I’ll be posting on http://designedtorank.net/ which is a member’s site; I set up just for me too post this type of information on. I want to try and control whose getting the information, so it could very well become a paid member’s site if it appears to start getting too many members.

I will break it down so you can skip around the site or read straight through the step by step information I am doing here.
