This is a crazy world and while I am not old enough to tell you what happens after 40, I can tell you that everything I thought was true before 30 turned out to look pretty stupid after 40. I guess what I am trying to say is that you need to think and rethink every decision you make, because you’ll have to live with them for the rest of your life.

I am not sure what’s going to be going on in 20 years from now but in this day and time the government tries to give us everything.  Most people think it’s wonderful and vote for the person that gives them the most, but please, no matter what, never fall for this.

Never, Ever Take One Penney You Didn’t Earn  

And it’s not just because it’s the correct thing to do, it’s because it will make you stronger.

Think about it like this;

You have two people (let’s name them Jill and Mary) and they are best friends in high school and finish school at the same time. Jill immediately starts getting help from the government while Mary gets a job. Jill laughs and makes fun of Mary and tells her how stupid she is because she doesn’t make any more money and goes to work every day.

This bothers Mary and she begins to question rather or not she is indeed being stupid, working 10 hours shifts and being on her feet all day while Jill sits and watches TV. But Mary’s mom won’t let her quite so she keeps working day after day.

But now two things are happening that no one see’s.   

Jill is sitting on the coach eating chips and having sex because there is nothing else to do.

While Mary is going to work, meeting people and though she doesn’t realize it at the time she is learning stuff.

It’s not long before Jill is pregnant because, well she’s been doing nothing but eating and having sex all day. Now don’t get me wrong, Jill is happy about being pregnant because that means she’ll be getting more money. And she really rubs it in Mary’s face now because she is sitting at home watching TV and making more money than Mary.

However, it’s not long before Mary stops coming to see Jill and some 10 years go by before they see each other again, at a reunion, and here’s what we see.

Mary is getting out of a brand new 911 Porch while Jill is driving up in an old beat up Volkswagen bus.

You see they both continued on the paths they were on. Jill continued to get help from the government, until there was no way for her to ever get a job. She couldn’t do anything and was getting more money from the government then anyone was willing to pay her. So every time she wanted a raise she would just have another baby. Having 15 kids, zero experience as well as being a fat, out of shape, and a smoker, she never had a chance.

And to add insult to injury half her teeth were messing, after all she had no reason to brush every day, it wasn’t like she was going to work or anything.

Mary still had her figure from school, had one child and was happily married to a guy she meet at church.  Mary quickly apologized for not letting Jill know she was leaving.

As Mary explained what had happened.

She had gotten a chance to go to some training, even though it didn’t mean any extra money she did it to help out her department. She explained how the training class was a terrible 6 month training class and how no one in the company except for her stayed and finished.

The worst part was there were several follow up classes only available to people who had finished the first class and the company almost forced her to finish every one of them.

As she spoke with Jill she explained that was when she use to sit and complain every day after work, but come to find out there was a reason for it.

As Mary explained, “Our company, had gotten a government contract and had to have someone certified in all the classes I had taken in all the plants where the work was being done. The only way to make this work was to make me VP over production and I went from making less than $20,000.00 a year to making 6 figures a year almost overnight.   And that’s where I’ve been for the last 10 years, how about you.

But that’s not where the story ends; you see Jill’s got 15 kids she’ll be raising with the same ethics and responsibilities she herself has shown. While Mary only has 1 that she’ll be raising with the same ethics and responsibilities that she has shown.

Mary’s 1 will be supporting Jill’s 15.

Who do you think was supporting Jill all this time?

It’s really kind of funny, here is Jill and Mary both too stupid to see what’s really going on. Mary is working and they are taking money out of her paycheck to support her friend Jill that is sitting at home destroying her own life.

And then they cry about humanity, if you don’t help your letting them die, but I am telling you if you help to much you are killing them. You are depriving them of knowledge and self-respect. Something the government did to Jill and forced Mary to help with.

I ran across this question over on Yahoo answers and I have to admit that there are times that I have to just stop what I am doing and scratch my head.

Here’s the question;

The 5 must have pages for SEO?

So, from my understanding there are 5 important pages for your blog/website.

These are:
1) About Us
2) Contact Us
3) Terms of Use
4) FAQs
5) Home

But, does it matter exactly how I name them?
For an example I call “Terms of Use” for “Terms and Conditions.” Will google still recognize it as a “Terms of Use” page?

It seems to me that everyone is after the secret recipe and they spend more time doing crazy things then actually doing the things that will make them money.

Let’s say that you build a website and you add an About Us Page, Contact Us page and all the other pages that are supposed to help your site rank, when it’s all said and done you’ve got nothing.

However, if you build the website for the customer and ignore the search engines then you will have built a website the search engines love. Every page you add to the site starts off with some type of page rank that is then funneled back through the site helping all your pages rank.

Write a Terms of Use for problems that may come up with your business and not because you think that somehow it might make your site rank better in the search engines. I’ve seen no proof that any of those pages will help you rank in the search engines.

Dominate Yahoo Answers!

Did you know that Yahoo Answers receive millions of visitors every day?

All of them answering, asking and seeking answers to simple problems. What we want to do is direct these people to products, offers and advice that could help them and make us money. I am not talking about spamming; I am talking about helping people and at the same time making money.

Yahoo Answers is actually a pretty cool, did you know that;

You get a ‘resource box’ at the footer of each of your post?
Credibility matters on YA.
A constant stream of best answer might allow you a ‘top contributor’ status.

Actions leading to receiving a contributor badge include:
• Maintaining a weekly (mystery) ‘quota’ of answers in the category.
• User wanting to become a TC must have more than or equal to 12% Best answers.
• User should be at least on level 2. Although, there have been claims that first level users with TC Badge have been seen.
• User should concentrate only on one particular category to become a Top Contributor for that category.
• Users must constantly answer questions up to their daily limit. A consistent effort will earn them a top contributor badge.

Note: Keep in mind that this is only guesses as Yahoo doesn’t officially disclose what it takes to become a TC.

Now the first thing I want to point out is that I am not talking about dropping a link every time you make a post, keep in mind that there are filters that can be tripped that will get your account blocked. So…I am talking about dropping a link about every 5 to 7 answers. Oh…and don’t post the same link every time.

Telling Helps You

By reporting answers/questions that are in violation of the community guidelines you can raise your reputation. Of course it would make sense that if you get credit for reporting the bad post that falsely reporting a good post would lower your reputation, so don’t report things that aren’t truly a problem.

After all, nobody wants to read something that is poorly written, irrelevant, jam packed with links or has bad English, so help yourself and the community by reporting these types of post.

Treat everyone like a Person

We sometimes forget that there is a person who posted the question we are answering. To help us remember this, and to let the person on the other end know we are a person as well, try to use their name when answering a post.

For example, “John, I believe this is what you are wanting to know …”.

And let’s not forget that there is an outside source that we can use along with Yahoo Answers and that is the rankings in the search engines. Other words, we are able to go after long tail keywords and rank the Yahoo page for those keywords.

It’s pretty simple to SEO a Yahoo Answers Page; after all it is a PR9 website.

Just look for Long tail keywords with an exact search volume of about 15,000 and when answering a question try and do a little onsite SEO work.

Basically just include the keyword at the front of your answer as it would appear in the SERPS, include your keyword in the description but don’t keyword stuff.

Now it’s time to see if we can help the page rank for our different keywords.

Since YA has a PR of 9 it pretty much trumps all your competition.

But, since we want it to move up the SERPS fast I am going to do a couple things to make sure Goolge notices my answer.

I am going to ‘multi-select’ my posted answers (shift + drag or ctrl + a) and then hit the ‘export URLs’ button in Answer Assault. This will export them to a .txt file which we can then import and use html2rss.com and place our list of URL’s into this tool and turn them into RSS feeds. Once this is done we can go to rssmix.com and place all our RSS feeds into this program and we’ll end up with just one RSS feed.

Now we can go to identi.ca this site has a PR8 and create an account and start making friends. Once we’ve hung out for a while and made a couple post we’ll drop the link to our one RSS. Now…Google is going to find the link, follow it and index our answers.

Now, by pinging our answers we are notifying Google and other sites that our website or answer has been updated. Yahoo factors in the amount of page views a question gets when determining its popularity and ranking it both on the YA website, on its SERPS and on the homepage of YA. And they count pings from different IPs as visitors. So, when you ping your website it not only helps it to rank on the search engines but it also helps it to rank in YA.

There are a lot of sites that scrape content from Yahoo answers for their blogs. Most are not manually reviewed by their owners, this means that when we drop a link it has the potential of being scrapped and posted on someone blog with a link back to our site.

I’ve got my guys building and designing a new website over at http://elitemodeling.co/.

It’s rare that I get involved in any of the projects at Geeks on Steroids, but I decided starting next year I would be a little more hands on. The office felt I should start now so I will be handling everything on this project, and this is actually the only project I’ve ever handled by myself other than Geeks on Steroids.

But since Geeks on Steroids was voted as the third best online marketed web design company in the world, I’d hate to not be able to put this site in the same standings with the web cam modeling business.

So let’s get started.

I’ve got one of the girls in the office creating a profile on Facebook, the second she finishes I will have one of the guys create us a Facebook Page. Once the page is created I’ll get one of the girls to get some “likes” to the page so I can set up the page URL. We’ll have to have 25 people come to the page and click the “like” button before we can set the URL up.

Here’s what I am thinking:

I’ll use a keyword like “how to model” (that gets millions of searches a month) for my main keyword on this page and later I’ll create some more with male models, female models and so on and so on.

I will then set up an opt-in account with AWebber and write a couple e-books about modeling.

It would work like this, I create a profile for a girl and she starts making friends on Facebook. She then launches a Facebook page where she gives away a free e-book on how to become a model, in exchange for their email addresses. They get a free e-book as well as a newsletter that comes out 3 times a week.

The emails will offer bonuses like free videos to watch and eBooks to read and things like that. When someone watches a kick ass video on how to become a model they will get access to a second video for free just by getting 5 of their friends to sign up. This will happen for every video you watch and every eBook you read.

Now this same thing would be going on on the other side, where men and woman can opt in to look at photos and get weekly newsletters. As you go through the different website and different emails you will be able to opt. into different email list.

So…I’d have one main email list where I could email everyone on a special deal or something that we have going on, and then there would be another that we could mail out for a specific topic like guys who are interested in modeling, woman under the age of 18 and we are able to group those together to run specials.

I’ve also got programmers working on the page layout and the second they finish, I’ll get the designer to clean it up and get the programmer started on getting the programming done. I’ll also set up the Meta and title tags as well as alt and image tags to help us rank the site on the search engines for some keywords.

I’ll also be creating 20 blogs each centered on a keyword, so one of the first things I need to do is figure out which keywords I want to rank for.

Marketing with Twitter

I am going to start by creating myself a new twitter account.

Then I want to fill out my profile information, photo and customize my profile’s look, so I don’t look like a spammer. And then I want to make about 10 little tweets.

What is Twitter?

It’s a conversation.

Twitter is a way for you to connect with people. It’s a way to communicate with your customers, and done correctly even find new customers.

If you are good at it, then you can use it to drive traffic to your blog or website. And if you know what you are doing, then you can convert that traffic into a paying customers. And let’s not forget that it is also a tool for educating people about your product or service.

It’s a form of email marketing where you have a list, and everyone on that list has opted in.

What Twitter is not?

It’s not a place where you do nothing but market your product.

Tell a joke, inspire me, educate me, let me know what’s up, and I’ll put up with your occasional attempt at trying to sale me something. But if you are really good, and if you care, you will try and camouflage those attempts as much as you can.

I read the other day that 60% of the people that use tweeter this month won’t use it next month?

That tells me I need to get my followers off of twitter and onto another way of contacting them each and every day.

Twitter has two big problems

• People leave after playing around with the site for a couple days.

• People like the site and stay around but get so many followers that your message gets ignored.

By following people, (in most cases), they will follow me back. I want to follow people who are interested in sex and modeling. We are trying to build a targeted list, so we want people who are interested in the same topic that we are selling stuff for.
So I am going to use Twitters search feature to look for people who are interested in the same type of products that we are trying to sale.

I am going to follow recent followers, of our competitors and colleagues. In most cases people that are following them on Twitter are their best fans and customers. All I need to do is engage them better than our competition and then move them onto our list.

The best time to follow people is from 1pm – 3pm M-F and 6pm – 10pm M-F. Following people in the morning is the worst and Sunday night is the best.

Here’s what I want to do.

I will go to search.twitter.com and type in the keywords we want to rank for. There are tons of people talking about all kinds of topics. If I find someone talking about something I know the answer to, then I will reply to their question. Once the conversation is over I will try and follow them in hopes that they will follow me back.

We want people that do a lot of updates but aren’t following a million people. If they are following thousands of people than any message we send will most likely disappear into the crowd.

All I have to do is be more interesting than the competition. Find the competition, follow their followers and tweet in blocks. Talk about things that are not directly related to my topic along with things that are related to my topic. I don’t want to be a one trick pony.

I will start at the beginning of their list of followers, because those are the people that have just started following them. I will follow about 50 people per day, give them 3 days to follow me and if they don’t, I will un-follow them. Once I get about 500 people on my list I will start following about 10% of my list every day.

The best days to tweet are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, tweeting on the days that are best, allows me to get the most out of my tweets. However, I want to tweet 7 days a week but don’t want to kill myself doing it.

The best times to tweet are from 11am until 3pm. and evening from 8pm until 11pm. But I want to tweet in blocks of 8.

One tweet has no impact, so I want to tweet in blocks of 5 – 15 tweets at a time in an 8 minute time period.

• AllTop.com
• StuffToTweet.com
• Digg

I’ll use those sites to find information to tweet about, along with using famous quotes and jokes. If I find a good article and send it out to the people that are following me, then it only helps them find what I felt was an interesting article.

With Digg I can go back for a year and find something with a really good title and article to link to. I want my tweets to be so good that people are looking forward to my next tweet. Everything I send out does not have to be on our topic.

What I want to do is send tweets that link back to our own content mixed in with the other content throughout the day.

I will then put an exit pop-up on our blogs and try and collect their email address in exchange for an eBook. We should be sending out about 7 good tweets to every 2 we send out for our blog. A total of 5 promotions per day, we can get away with this because it’s not the same people every time. Most people only go on at a certain time of the day. Only a small percent of my audience will see my message each time I send it out.

Social Location Marketing

Foursquare, Gowalla, Yelp, Layar, Google Goggles, and other tools are giving consumers the ability to find out who you are before they make a purchase.

People can find out all about your business as quickly as they can walk down the sidewalk. And they’ll pass your business by just because of a lack of information, about your business. If the guy next door is doing twice the business as you while selling the same product at a higher price, chances are he’s got people talking about him on the social media sites.

Your customers are now on powerful network based social media sites making friends and talking about you and business owners just like you every second of every day. And when they’re not talking about you they are getting advice about you or someone just like you.

Social media marketing is bringing businesses closer to their customers more so than any other marketing tool in recent history. People are talking about your business, product, service and location rather you are joined in or not. Unlike any other kind of marketing social media marketing can impact the purchase and brand awareness.

Before social networking people got advice from a small network of family and friends, now that advice comes from millions of strangers. People are becoming aware of products, researching products, selecting company’s, researching company’s and making purchase’s all from the comfort of their own home, with the help of the social media sites and the search engines.

Social media sites allow a consumer to ask a question and get hundreds of responses, sometimes even a response from the manufacture themselves. This sets social media marketing apart from any other kind of marketing channel in the world. And not only is it a better form of marketing, but it is also a cheaper form of marketing. This gives you a much better return on your investment than traditional marketing methods.

The other neat thing about social media marketing is that everyone is there; rather it’s a Fortune 500 company, a medium to small business, or a non-profit organization.

In a lot of cases people are talking about a restaurant, clothing store, business or hair salon for themselves, to let people know that they can afford to go to these places. Don’t get me wrong some people want to promote a local business because of the great service they received when they were there.
