The neat thing about Guerrilla marketing is that it combines out of the box thinking, design and art as well as the ability to advertise a product without letting anyone know they’ve been advertised to.

Larger-than-life Gillette Fusion Power razors were attached to the backs of Zamboni (ice resurfacer) machines, making it seem as though the razors were giving the ice a smoother “shave”.

I’d call that some pretty darn good use of guerrilla marketing.

Guerrilla marketing is a marketing method that has grown to new heights as bigger companies have started using it.

A good example of this would be ski boots designed to look like the Volvo XC60. The ski boots at Norway’s premier Alpine resorts were redecorated and turned into the car itself.

What is “Guerilla Marketing” ?duracellad 213x300 Guerilla Marketing...

It’s technique in which a new element is added into marketing. Guerilla Marketing is marketing without letting anyone know that you are marketing to them, it’s an unconventional system of promotions that relies on time, energy and imagination rather than a big marketing budget.

Typically, guerrilla marketing tactics are unexpected and unconventional; consumers are targeted in unexpected places, which can make the idea that’s being marketed memorable, generate buzz, and even spread virally.

The impact is greater because it is out of the box marketing and is meant to catch the attention of the people you are marketing to in ways the competition has never dreamed of.

It’s about standing out, differentiating yourself from the dozens of competitors who are struggling to get their clients attention…

Guerilla Marketing involves unusual approaches such as intercept encounters in public places, street giveaways of products, pr stunts, any unconventional marketing intended to get maximum results from minimal resources.

When using guerrilla marketing tactics, small size is an advantage instead of a disadvantage. Small organizations and entrepreneurs are able to obtain publicity more easily than large companies as they are closer to their customers and considerably more agile.

However, Guerrilla Marketing must “deliver the goods”. In order to sell a product or a service, a company must establish a relationship with the customer. It must build trust and support. It must understand the customer’s needs, and it must provide a product that delivers the promised benefits.
