More About Geeks on Steroids...

Geeks on Steroids has been building custom designed websites for over eight years. Geeks on Steroids has a staff of six people at this time and while it is a small staff it is the perfect size for us. If you are looking for a company that gives a home town feel then you are in the right place because we want every client to be our best friend.

Another Tit-Bit...

Geeks on Steroids did search engine optimization for a select group of clients several years ago but decided to get out of online marketing for other people and focus on our own sites. This year after many meeting and lots of talks we have decided to once again start offering search engine optimization.

Yahoo Incapable

According to Chris Yahoo has no intentions of getting rid of the Overture keyword tool. The problem is that they are incapable of keeping the tool online.

How in the world is Yahoo ever going to compete against Google if they are incapable of keeping one simple tool online? Not to worry here is another tool that seems to work better than Yahoo’s.

Say GoodBye To Overture Tool

I just read a post by theGypsy on another forum about this and wanted to add my two cents.

When you have a tool that has been as widely used as the http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ I think it’s crazy to stop updating the tool and discontinue it. But that’s what Yahoo is doing. If Google had owned the tool, I’m sure we would have seen the tool updated, online and surrounded my AdSense Ads.

But then it is Yahoo that said, “It’s not our goal to be No. 1 in Internet search. We would be happy to maintain our market share.” And it appears it’s all they want to do. They updated their ads to be like Google and made no attempt to improve on what Google already had in place and now they are removing pages that get traffic. I’m not sure that there is anyone out there trying to compete with Google.

Yahoo has already said their happy being No.2 and MSN doesn’t seem smart enough to remove someone that stupid from No.2, there is no way they can get to be No.1. I think the webmasters are ready to get behind anyone that is willing to make a half ass attempt at being No. 1 but then I really don’t think it will be a search engine that will remove Google from their position.

At the rate social media sites are evolving, it is just a matter of time before something comes along that is able to deliver information and be more sociable than Google. Google will be the first to know when this site comes along although Yahoo may never know about it.

Dave Pasternack

Dave Pasternack

I find it funny that one person can get so many people so upset. But I also have to wonder if Dave Pasternack did it on purpose. Dave Pasternack got everyone so upset that they all started talking about him and even started a contest to try and rank for his name.

This is a good example of link bait and one that was brought about so nicely that the guys linking out to Dave and posting his pictures all of the Internet don’t even realize how much they are helping the guy out. But the best part of all is that all these SEO’s are trying to rank for a keyword that Dave Pasternack the want to be SEO does not rank for and neither do they. The person ranking for the name Dave Pasternack is chef David Pasternack. And he’s not even an SEO, and to help him keep is #1 ranking I’m going to send some links his way.

Good luck chef Dave Pasternack and way to link bait the other Dave Pasternack even if you don’t know how to rank a website you did get everyone talking about you.

The Tax Bot

If your going to steal money then an important step is to keep an eye on everyone you are trying to steal the money from.

Speak of the devil, tax authorities in the Netherlands, Austria, Denmark, Britain and Canada have built a web-spider called “Xenon” that looks for people earning unreported online income. From what they are saying it’s a lot easer to catch people online then off line.

The United States said that they were not part of “Xenon” but would neither confirm or deny rather they had a bot out doing the same thing.

Gay Sheep and Stupid People

I enjoy stupid people, even more so when they group together.Charles Roselli, a researcher at the Oregon Health and Science University decided to try and figure out why some rams enjoy other rams instead of ewes. The story got out that he was going to try and cure the gay rams and that later the research would turn to curing homosexuality in humans. Between the animal rights people and the homosexual people everything spun out of control.

But the tide has turned, 20,000 emails had been mailed to Roselli calling him every name in the book. Mr. Roselli took the time to write back to every emailer and explain what it was he was trying to do and contacted some online bloggers to help get the facts straight. He is not trying to cure the gay community.

Read more about it here.
