Second Life has about 334,000 regular visitors. More than 2.6 million have checked it out, a figure that in mid-January was growing by about 20,000 per day.
Big business like IBM are looking at Second Life as a platform to build a whole new Internet and they have the money and backers to do just that. They see it has a way to sell merchandise and products online that takes social networking to a whole new level.
