Perez Hilton has become quite famous due to his blog. He made in excess of $100,000.00 last year blogging, as well as building quite a name for himself. My understanding is that he started out totally broke and I’ve even herd rumors that he was homeless. Either way I was intrigued by his story and decided to spend some time studying his blog.

Perez Hilton will make as many as 24 post or more per day. You can start reading one page and by the time you get to the bottom of that page you can hit refresh and start over. Most of his post are short and include a picture. To give you an idea of the amount of traffic he gets, his website served over 3.97 million unique visitors in a 24 hour period.

The short post and pictures keep you reading. If you write a long article most people want read all the way to the end, but short little post are easy to read and if there interesting, people will read more of your post and even continue on to page 2. The number of post are equally important, the blog is pinging other websites while at the same time getting picked up on the search engines for all the different keywords in each post. Enough posting per day and it is just a matter of time before someone takes notice.

I’ve started playing with this a little in the last week. Step one was finding a topic that I felt I could make 20 post a day or more about. I feel like I can do this on my Bible blog and think that I can find enough information and I’m interested enough in the topic that with some effort on my part I can make the 20 post per day mark. I posted a little but found the same problem I’ve always had with blogs and that is that my last post shows up first. But I found a way around this, by creating a page and then putting links at the bottom of the page to each of my post, I’m able to write and put things in the order I want them to show in.

But because I’m writing about the Bible there was the problem of writing short post and being able to show Bible proof for each of my post. The post become long and are no longer short little post. I’ve now figured out a way to work around this, I place a little link that when clicked on opens a new window with the Bible proof.

The next problem is in finding pictures for each of my post. Its time consuming and all most impossible to find the pictures online. I’ve decided to hire an artist whose only job will be drawing pictures for my post, I’m interviewing people for that job as I write this post.

The last step is the design. I’ve got my guys playing with the design now. I want something that is different from all the other Bible sites that are online. If you land on my site I don’t want you to have to wonder if you’ve been there before.

As I workout both of the above problems I’m going to go ahead and move forward with the project. I’m going to attempt to make 20 short post everyday on the blog and see if just making these post, is enough to get the site to getting thousands of visitors per a day. In case anyone is wondering the blog was not getting any visitors when I started. I have started getting some links to the blog but I’m trying to get a couple 1,000 visitors per day so I’ll need some links to get the search engines interested in what is going on.

I’m also going to do the same with JanethD.com but will have Magda one of the girls here in the office making the 20 post per day on that blog along with myself. There has been a small change in plans, we are going to use Magdda.com instead of Janethd.com.

They said a lot of other stupid stuff like they were suing because they don’t like him but I don’t think Perez gas got 7.5 million and he has a pretty good case His attorney, Bryan Freedman, said Hilton has a legal right to make satirical or humorous use of newsworthy photographs.

If the copyright lawsuit succeeds, “the effect would be to eliminate the ability to comment on and transform photographs under the fair-use exception to the Copyright Act,”

I think X17 should put their money and time to better use by figuring out ways to secure their business.

But that’s not why I spent the day looking at http://perezhilton.com/ my interest in the blog is to see what made it so popular. Now the lawsuit has helped him out in that popularity area but here are some other things I’ve found that he does.

1.Updates his blog two dozen or more times a day.
2.Uses a lot of photos
3.Breaking news
4.Short and two the point
5.Rude

He’s made a six figure income this year and his office is a corner booth in a coffee shop. Might be worth looking into ways to use what he does in our own businesses.

1. Have your heart in the right place. Post on forums to help people and not to promote your own business. The business will come but don’t look for it.

2. Everyone knows more about something then you do. Try and learn something from everyone you meet. Don’t put anyone done, they could be a potential client.

3. Always try and improve your website. You should not be making self promotional post on forums, you’ve got one shot to make the sell and that’s through your website. Always try and improve your design, text, logo and images as well as the way your site operates.

If your going to make money on forums your website needs to be the best, there is a lot of competition.

4. Debates are good but never let them get personal.

5. Bad information, I think a lot of people post bad information just to get people posting on a topic they started. I would never do this, it not only makes you look bad but also causes people to become confused about the topic being talked about.

At the end of the day you end up with links pointing to your site from forums, blogs and other websites talking about something you’ve said or done.

This helps your website rank in the search engines not because of link exchanges or submitting your site to directories but because you were out helping someone.

When your website does rank it’s the best it can be, you’ve been improving it everyday to help sell your product or service, while your competition has been submitting there site to directories and doing link exchanges.

You’ve also been making money from day one instead of worrying about the search engines and were you rank.

People need to forget about the search engines and start learning how to make money online.

Three things;

1. Bloggers have to say that the reviews are being paid for.
2. You do not have to write anything positive
3. The payouts will be fat. I’m thinking he’s saying they will pay more then payperpost.

I’d also like to say that Google can ban you while you’re waiting on a $20,000.00 check and then they keep the money.

So I’d never recommend doing this as a full time job.

Also keep in mind that I was not using Google AdSense to make my money, I was using something similar to it but was trying to keep up with everyone at the time.

I’ll start with how to get a site banned and move from there on to how to get a site unbaned.

1. You can get your site banned if you click on your own ads. One click will do it.

2. You can get banned for asking other people to click on your ads.

3. You can get banned if a site visitor clicks too many times on your ads.

4. If your traffic has unusual spikes durian the day, they will ban you.

5. If your traffic clicks too many times on the same age, they will ban you.

6. If your traffic has spikes at certain times durian the day, they will ban you.

7. The same people returning everyday and clicking on the ads can get you banned.

8. Having low or no clicks can get you banned.

All the letters seem to say the same thing, that you were banned for invalid clicks. But there are a lot of reasons you can get your account.

Now how to get an account reinstated.

After that start sending very, very nice emails and continue to do so every day for about 2 months. Never threaten legal action, just continue to kiss up everyday for about 2 months and they will eventually let you back in.

Have you ever noticed that when you do a search for a non-competitive keyword a lot of times you get a site full of ads?

Chances are those sites are using AdSense or a similar program to make money off the clicks you make on those sites.

“Here’s what a lot of them do.”

They go after keywords that are not competitive and easy to rank for. A lot of them will also use Google AdWords to bid on the keywords and they will show up on the right side of the search results.

They then use the text on the page to target the high paying keywords so when you click on the ad they make a dollar or two and pay very little if anything for the click.

This is how they make their living. The idea is that most businesses are not smart enough to go after the lower paying keywords.

“How To Get Traffic To Your Website”

I know a lot of people like to go after the competitive keywords and I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. But competitive keywords can take from 3 months to a year to get your site to rank.

If you’re using PPC you could be paying big money for clicks that you could get on more targeted keywords for a lot less.

Although it is also good to rank your sites for competitive keywords, while you’re waiting, going after non-competitive keywords can give a big boost to your traffic.

A lot of the tools like the Overture’s tool and the Google AdWord keyword tool is being used by everyone. This can make those keywords become competitive.

The long tail would be going after “Tennessee Web Designers” rather than going after “Web Designers” it’s not going after “Tennessee Web Designers living in Colombia”

No one is going to search for the last one.

Overture and Google AdWords tools are good for putting together a list of keywords.

1. Using keywords in their plural forum as well as their singular forum.

2. The English language is a little crazy and we found that a lot of words were spelled differently but had the same meaning.

3. One of the best methods we used on accident on one of the Spanish sites when one of the guys misspelled the name of an American movie that had just come out.

We got a ton of traffic. Guess a lot of other people misspelled the same word and we easily ranked #1 for it.

You can also use Thesaurus style=”font-size: 12pt” where you’re able to enter a keyword and get a list of other keywords that mean the same thing.

We also have a rather large list of words we can fit in with a keyword.

Let’s say my keyword is “website design” my list would work like this but keep in mind it would work with almost any keyword we came up with.

The list goes on and on I think they have around 150 words they are using now at the office.

There are a lot of things you can do when trying to find keywords no one else is using like abbreviations, opposites and on and on.

“Now that you have your list together”

Let’s say one of my keywords is “custom website design”, I want to build a page that talks about nothing else except custom website design.

If my keyword is “fast green widgets” then I want all my text on the page to be about fast green widgets, I don’t want anything about blue widgets or orange widgets.

If you create a list with 5,000 keywords. Create a web page for each of those keywords then you now have 5,000 more places for people to find you.

If you get one visitor per day from each keyword then you have 5,000 additional visitors per day to your site.

Done right the pages should be very easy to get ranked and you should see an increase in traffic within a week or two.

You’ll have to point a couple links towards the page with the correct anchor text but that’s nothing when compared to adding 1000’s of links to rank for the more competitive keywords.

blogginh for a short time and find that things are not working
out as you expected, it will be worth your while to spend some
time understanding the common mistakes that bloggers make,
mistakes that make it hard to enjoy what should be an
enjoyable, satisfying experience: Blogging!

Diving in! Many bloggers are so anxious to get started that
they dive in rather than wading in slowly — its a mistake in
an unfamiliar swimming pool or pond and its a mistake when
entering a new arena such as the 'blogosphere.' Consider these
things before you start your Blog:

Find a focus for your blog . . . a focus that reflects what you
know, what interests you and what you enjoy talking and writing
about. No topics are out of bounds: politics, religion,
science, sexual orientations, comedy, exercise, diet, diseases,
etc., etc..

Take the time to read dozens of different blogs: note the
colors, graphics and layouts to get an idea of what appeals to
you. Also note that some bloggers are long-winded and others
are brief and to the point . . . others are just chatty and
entertaining and have no particular point to make . . . this
too is a personal style you get to choose.

You need a host for your blog, some are free, some charge a
small amount per month for their service, some are simple to

Losing focus! When you started your blog you had a particular
reason for doing so; it might have been to express your views
on a topic or it might have been to just communicate with a
close circle of friends about your daily activities. Readers
will come to your blog for the first time and either be
interested in your subject matter or not, will either like your
style or not and, if they like your subject and style they may
comment and then come back later. Once you've established a
topic and tone for your blog you're free to change it but to do
so you're basically starting all over.

point you've made and criticize it. People leave comments on
others blogs for the same reason they themselves blog, to
exchange ideas and express their points of view. Always respond
to your readers comments; thank them for reading and taking the
time to comment (even the severe critics) and then respond, as
appropriate, to their comment. If you ignore your comments your
readers may end up ignoring your blog.
