More About Geeks on Steroids...

Geeks on Steroids has been building custom designed websites for over eight years. Geeks on Steroids has a staff of six people at this time and while it is a small staff it is the perfect size for us. If you are looking for a company that gives a home town feel then you are in the right place because we want every client to be our best friend.

Another Tit-Bit...

Geeks on Steroids did search engine optimization for a select group of clients several years ago but decided to get out of online marketing for other people and focus on our own sites. This year after many meeting and lots of talks we have decided to once again start offering search engine optimization.

Google addresses W3C link selling

Google takes control of W3C and explains to them how they must run their website.

They are no longer allowed to link out without the use of a “index, nofollow” meta-tag applied - blocking the links from search engines.

I wonder how many people will stop buying links from W3C?

rel=nofollow

Google says to build your sites for visitors not search engines, but aren’t tags like, rel=nofollow, and noindex specifically for search engines?

What use do they serve a visitor? None..

But Google needs, and in may cases demands, that if you want to be in the index you need to use these tags..

This was a post on a forum by Feydakin and I agree with him 100%.

It seems Google has taken over the Internet and now wants to tell us how we should build our websites both for them and our visitors.

I guess when Google says to build our sites for visitors and not the search engines they only want us to listen when it benefits them.

Not us or our visitors.

PayPerPost

In the past, I have gotten a lot of emails from people asking me for alternatives to PPC and Affiliate programs, I guess it was my post on PPC that caused these emails.

The truth is it can be tough trying to find alternatives, PPC seems like the way to go for an easy to start up business with little or no money down.

But I may have found an alternative to PPC.

There is a website that is willing to pay you to look at client’s websites and blog about them.

The advantage to the client is a lot of links, traffic and getting his site in a lot of blogs, the advantage to the blogger is he can make around $7.00 give or take a couple dollars per post.

I’m thinking this is going to be a big hit and that other sites offering the same service are not far around the corner.

Here’s why I think its better than PPC

1. I know that one post will make me the amount stated on the website. I saw some post paying as much as $10.00.

Unlike PPC where you have no idea rather your site will make anything.

2. I don’t need any where near the traffic to make this work as compared to PPC.

3. I’m paid for the work I do and do not have to rely on my ranking in the search engines.

4. The company has to respect the blogger, how would you like to have 2,000 bloggers mad at you.

5. Unlike being a publisher you get paid at the end of 30 days.

Now if you do this along with your PPC you get an added bonus and a desire to post everyday.

I submitted one of my blogs so I could get in and play around a little, I’m not much of a blogger so I may not get accepted but rather I’m turned down or not I still think it’s a nice little deal from what little I’ve seen so far.

Blogging Again

I’ve decided I’m going to start blogging again not because I’m a good blogger but to help me become a better writer.

I’m changing a couple sites we own into blogs and will start trying to blog everyday on the different sites, as well as returning to the forums to start posting again.

I’ve taken a break for the last two years from the forums and I think I’m starting to miss them.

I asked if it might be the bat cave they were working on but got no answer from the operator. I’m thinking it must be and they are sworn to secrecy. </span></p> <p><span class="name">I sent everyone home for the day and continued making phone calls about every 15 minutes to the power company. Around 6:00 pm the truck showed up to fix the problem. </span></p> <p>class=”MsoNormal”><span class="name">I was going to ask about the bat cave but was sure they had also been sworn to secrecy and would have pretended not to know what I was talking about.</span></p> <p>class=”MsoNormal”><span class="name">Anyway by 7:00 we had regained power but were told that on Friday and Saturday we would be
