"Web Site Design"
Website Design Information and Articles
I am going to start this off by explaining the purpose of these pages and why we have set them up. On the left side of the page under our normal menu bar you will notice links to some other pages on this site and some of those links will go to other pages that will introduce a new group of pages like the one you a currently on.
We are at this time setting up landing pages for each of our keywords. When we finish we should have over 100,000 keywords, each with it's own landing page. We will then use Microsoft's adCenter to find out the age and race of the main people searching on those keywords.
With that information we will tailor each of our landing pages for the type of people that normally search on those keywords. After that we will set up programs to tell us the reaction of the people that land on those pages. How long did they stay there were did they go once they landed on the pages and on and on.
With this information we can begin to adjust the pages more to get exactly what the person searching for is looking fo.
Step one is coming up with 100,000 keywords and step two is writing 100,000 pages of unique text for each of those keywords. We have three people working full time on this project so if you check back hourly you should see changes taking place.
Website Designs and PPC
Once we get each of the pages set up we will go back through our PPC campaign and adjust each of our banner ads. The banner ads are important because it is the first step in getting a potential customer to the site.
Because the searcher is looking for the term he entered in the search engine we will use that term for our header text. I also understand that with AdWords you are able to set up the header tag to show what the searcher was searching for by adding {Keyword:alternative term} instead of the header text. This will make the text the user searched for the header text.
Some other things that can spark interest are:
Asking questions:
“Still trying to make money online?”
“Looking for a custom website design?”
Offering instructions:
“Graphical headers convert better,”
“How to make your website convert,”
Tell stories:
“How I started with nothing,”
“I was poor and dumb,”
Divulge insider information:
“The secret to making a living online,”
“How to make your website work for you,”
Claim the unbelievable:
“Convert 99% of your traffic,”
“Make money and only work 1 hour a week,”
Create trust:
“20,000 satisfied customers,”
“25 years experience”
Compare:
“The best online,”
“Better than the rest,”
Of course after all this you have to meet the PPC guidelines.
Now that we have the header written it is time to move on to the ad text.
The header should get their attention but it is important that our ad text motivates them to make the click.
Here is what we are doing here.
We are first going to make a list of the benefits of doing business with us.
Once we get our list together we will word each one so it is a benefit for the potential client.
We will figure out what makes us different from our competition.
Once we get this information together we will move on to the next step of writing the text:
We will only list the features we offer.
We will create incentives that are time-sensitive.
We will remove any unneeded words.
We will be specific with our text.
And we will make our ad inspire the searcher.
And of course the text does need to meet the PPC advertisers rules.
The last thing on the page is the URL displayed. Since we are using this for both customers and branding I will be using the www.geeksonsteroids.com on all the ads. If I were not using this for branding then I could buy new domain names for each of the keywords I was targeting.
Here is a list of expressions that should help increase my clickthrough rates.
