I’ve been designing and building websites for the last 8 years and I can tell you from experience that templates are a pain in the ass too work with, but what makes them even worst is the fact that they don’t change with the programs.

Other words, let’s take a look at a website like templatemonster; here we have designers turning out templates daily and some really nice looking templates. They are basically turning out templates as fast as they can go.

They have templates for wordpress, osCommerce, Joomla and may other sites.

But what happens when osCommerce, WordPress or one of the others change the way their program works?

If you’ve ever tried to download and use premade templates you will find that different templates work with different versions. This means that if you purchase a template from templatemonster it might not work with the newest version of the program you are trying to use.

Now…when you try and contact templatemonster with the problem you will find that they don’t have a phone number on their website. However, they do have live chat that will tell you to submit a ticket. Last ticket I submitted got taken care of 5 days later, so don’t expect things to move quickly.

My advice…hire a designer and have them build you a custom designed site.
