I have been make a living online for the last eight years and have to admit that the Web design industry has to be one of the most unique industries in the world. A programmer will create a program and not just any program but a kick-ass program and put it online for free, “here is the codes take it and do what you want with it.”
I love this industry and do not know of any other industry in the world where people do this type of stuff. A web designer will tell you where they get their inspiration from. They will tell you I got the inspiration for this website design from this and this and here is how I did it.
However, the one thing I have noticed is web designers and programmers are not as willing to tell where they get work from. Or how much they charge and what they do when they finish a website and three weeks later the client is still refusing to pay the bill.
A web designer is an artist and in order for a Web designer to be all that he can be, he should not have to chase clients for his money. A young Web designer decides that he wants to become a graphic designer and the next thing he knows he is chasing clients trying to get paid for work he has done.
A web designer is a person that is able to generate ideas from a blank piece of paper.
It is really sad that you have a gifted graphic designer that is able to do extraordinary things and he/she is having to chase clients around for money.
