Web Design Freelancers
I read an article today where someone was talking about the freedom that you have as a freelance web designer and all the free time you have. Not sure exactly what this person believes but a freelancer is working for someone. They have a client that is paying the bills and waiting for their website.
Freelance web designers need to structure their time just like the rest of the world.
There are some freedoms however if you are accountable for your time and at the end of the day you should be able to look back and see where that time went. Clients will get tired of the work not getting done in the time frame they have given. Having set hours creates a feeling of accountability and makes you less likely to waste it.
By creating a clear workday schedule and sticking to it work gets done. Spending the day in your pajamas does not set the mood for a productive day.
Do not get me wrong, I believe in taking short breaks throughout the day. Go for a walk, grab a snack, drink a cup of coffee 30 minutes of focused work is more productive than an hour’s of interrupted work.
However, at the end of the day you need to look back and see how well you have done. Did you accomplish what you set out to do today?
Evaluate your performance and try and improve your productivity. These are the things that will help you make more money.
