Here Is My Method For Ranking a Site In The Search Engines
One of the most important parts of SEO is not in understanding the search engines but in understanding your customers.
Learn How People Search Online
The first step in SEO is identifying a targeted keyword phrase.
A targeted keyword phrase meet’s certain criteria designed to reduce the amount of risk associated with trying to rank in the search engines.
Once we find the targeted keyword phrase we are in most cases able to rank in the search engines in a matter of days.
I try to find phrases that have
1. 2 to 3 words.
2. Can easily be used in a sentence.
3. Will be searched for by someone looking for a product or service.
4. Has a daily search count of above 8
Once I identify the phrase I want to rank for I
1. create a page of content designed around that keyword phrase. This gives me a little leverage when trying to rank it.
2. set the page up to convert whatever traffic I get to the site.
Once this is done I start building keyword phrases for that page. These will be used later for my link building anchor text.
Let’s say the targeted keyword phrase was “website design”.
I’d put a list together like “buy website designs”, “discount on website designs”, “best website designs”, “cheap website design”, “purchase a website design” and the list would go on and on.
I would then build a network of web 2.0 properties which interlinks to itself and creates a maze. The goal is to have a central hub that links out to the page I am trying to rank. I would then bookmark all the sites in my hub.
