The lack of knowledge in the SEO industry should really cause everyone involved to go looking for open source help desk software. At least then the key phrase open source help desk software would actually stand a chance of being a competitive search term.

The problem today is that many SEO’s find known competitive search terms and then brag to potential clients about how they rank for these search terms.

A competitive search term has to do with the number of people who are currently trying to rank for that term. The search results will show the number of sites that use the term on their website but it has nothing to do with the number of people actually trying to rank for it.

When someone shows a key phrase like open source help desk as being competitive I have to wonder if they are trying to fool a client or just lack the understanding of what a competitive search term really is.

Everyone and their brother seem to be getting into search engine optimization these days.
